Veritas Technologies on Feb. 22 announced a multi-year strategic global partnership with Microsoft Corp. to convince enterprises to use Microsoft Azure for hosting hybrid cloud environments.
Oh, and Veritas wants to make it known that its own Enterprise Vault.cloud storage management and governance service is also hosted on Azure.
The partnership, built on the longstanding relationship between the two companies, includes collaboration tools to jointly sell hybrid cloud storage solutions to mutual customers.
Hybrid cloud storage packages like this one are designed for customers to take advantage of the cloud to reduce storage costs, increase data management agility and to extract greater value from their data. Business data, once stored in the cloud, can be processed to find answers through a whole suite of Azure cloud services, including advanced analytics and machine learning.
Enterprise Vault.cloud on Azure provides policy-based information retention to streamline e-discovery and helps Office 365 subscribers quickly find archived information when they need it. Enterprise Vault.cloud will continue to deliver advanced productivity and compliance functionality, Veritas said
