Messaging in the age of smartphones

Are there opportunities for developers? Are any APIs available for developers to integrate ebuddy messenger into their applications?

Currently not. However with some minor alterations it is very straightforward to add this extra layer to the Architecture. There are no concrete plans yet, but stay tuned!

Between native, web or cross platform app development approaches, what would you recommend to developers?

As far as the approach to create an app is concerned, we feel that it depends on a situation to situation to decide on which approach one should work on. Depending on the service that app developer has to offer, one can decide on the route one should follow for developing a certain app.

Finally, does eBuddy believe that the end of text messaging is here?

All indicators are extremely positive for instant messaging or mobile messaging products like ours. Be it the increase in smartphone shipments, the increase adoption of mobile internet or tech savvy-ness of people. In addition, the obvious benefits remain, like XMS being a cheaper option to SMS and instant messaging being a more entertaining form communication. All that said, we would say that instant messaging will become the norm by 2015.
