Under the new leadership, Bihar has shown tremendous growth across all areas of development. In fact, Bihar is ranked among the top performing states in terms of GDP growth rate. Now we hear that this Indian state is in the process of setting up its first Information technology (IT) park near the state capital.

Following on the closed heels of Bangalore’s International Tech Park and Hyderabad’s Software Technology Park, this IT park will be set up at Bihta, 30 km from Patna.

Officials of the information technology (IT) department have confirmed that later it will be developed as Bihar’s IT hub. This can be done with the aid of booming infrastructural facilities here.

According to officials, a private consultancy company has been hired to survey the land and to prepare a business plan for the proposed IT park. “Only after completion of the land survey, a decision will be taken about the design of the park,” the official said. A vast 25 acres of land has been acquired by the state government for the IT park.

“The IT park would have high bandwidth facility for high-speed internet and uninterrupted power supply,” another IT department official said.

Officials also mentioned that IT majors like Infosys have shown keen interest for a plot near Bihta after the state government secured hundreds of acres of land for establishment up an IIT campus there.
